PEP in brief

Three grades, one score

The Primary Exit Profile (PEP) is a set of assessments across Grades 4, 5 and 6. The scores add up to 400 points and, together with the school choices, decide a child's secondary school placement.

  • Grade 4

    10%

    40 of 400 points

  • Grade 5

    20%

    80 of 400 points

  • Grade 6

    70%

    280 of 400 points

The 2026 sitting was shortened after Hurricane Melissa, and as of October 2026 the Ministry had not announced the arrangements or dates for PEP 2027. Check the Ministry's PEP website for this year's details. Read our guide for what each grade sits.

Why games

Practice your child does not have to be chased to do

  • Little and often

A few short games a day, from Grade 4 on, builds skills steadily. It is easier on a child than weeks of cramming before the exam.

  • Feedback straight away

A hint when your child is stuck and a short explanation after each answer, so a mistake turns into learning on the spot.

  • Skills, not just scores

Every level is tied to the curriculum skills for its unit. You can see which ones your child has mastered and which need more practice.

Games and practice

Games build the habit. Practice tests show the progress.

Alongside the games there are topic practice questions, full practice tests in the PEP format and worksheets to print.

  • Practice questions

Topic-by-topic questions in the Study Hub, in the order the curriculum is taught. Practise one part of a topic, or the whole topic at once.

No. QuizWoo is made by LearnSuite, an independent company. It is built from the primary curriculum that PEP assesses, but it is not an official Ministry product. For exam dates and rules, always check the Ministry's PEP website.

When is PEP 2027?

How much does each grade count towards secondary school placement?

PEP scores add up to 400 points. Grade 4 counts for 10 percent, Grade 5 for 20 percent and Grade 6 for 70 percent. Placement also takes the school choices into account.
